Pulpy fruit comes to the fore in the attack, with tannins that are expressive but not invasive; they ably balance a nice vein of crisp acidity that makes the flavours sing. The long-lingering finale flaunts a rich mosaic of nuanced flavours.

The grapes for Quercetas Brunello di Montalcino are hand harvest and fermented slowly for two weeks under temperature control. The wine spends three years maturing in Slavonian oak barrels a year more than the two year minimum for most Brunellos. The outcome is a textured wine with many complex layers of flavor. Querceta also sells its wines under the Tenuta di Sesta label in Europe, which consistently receives 2 Bicchieri in the Gambero Rosso.

Description: Soldera's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is just as it was when I tasted it from barrel last year, which is to say monumental. This silky-textured Brunello offers an array of crushed flowers, spices and deeply-layered dark red fruit in a style that manages to be both delicate and powerful at the same time. - Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes from a specific clone called "Brunello" in the town of Montalcino. Situated in the southwestern part of Tuscany the town of Montalcino sits on a ridge about 400 feet above the Eastern plain. This ridge divides the region into three diverse growing areas. The northeastern part produces wines with brighter fruit, more cherry and high tone notes and somewhat leaner body. The southeastern portion often referred to, as the "Golden Triangle" is the home of Biondi Santi...

2001 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino (750ml - Full Bottle)
Region : Italy As the world’s top wine-exporter, Italy is an important wine region both because of the amount and quality of wines produced. Just two grapes—Nebbiolo and Sangiovese—are used to make some of the finest Italian wines, including Barolo, Brunello de Montalcino and Chianti. Still, Italy is home to dozens of wine grape varieties, with important wines being made from Corvina, Barbera, Cortese, Moscato and traditionally French varietals. The major wine regions include Piedmont, Tuscany, Emilia...

Description: Powerful and authoritative, Salvioni's deeply-colored 2001 Brunello di Montalcino is unquestionably one of the vintage's top wines. It displays a tightly wound core of sweet dark fruit, marrying notable concentration with classic structure on a frame of great expansiveness and length. The 2001 Brunello saw a full four years of cask, considered long by today's standards, yet it boasts incredible freshness, richness and vibrancy. This magical, unique Brunello of exquisite pedigree will...

Description: Camigliano's deeply-colored 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto is made in a soft, supple style that doesn't sacrifice power. Super-ripe fruit, smoke, vanilla and toasted oak all flow from the glass with outstanding length and terrific balance. A lingering note of sweetness frames the finish. This doesn't look to be a long ager, but it is delicious today. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
