I did allot of comparing and sound checks before deciding on the all maple CX. These drums blew away everything in their price range in one way or another. It was down to the Gretch Catalina Maple or these. The Gretch Catalina maple are made in China, the Pacific CX is made in Mexico which kind of sucks too but unless you have thousands to spend on American made drums you have to live with it. The toms are 5 lug on the Gretch Catalina instead of 6 like the Pacific CX, more lugs on the CX bass drum...
