Victor and Margaret Meldrew (Richard Wilson and Annette Crosbie) are recently retired upper-middle-class folks who have yet to actually settle down. If anything, retirement has brought them more headaches than the working world ever did. These problems are propelled mainly by Victor's constant gripes at the world around him, which bloom into full-blown debacles, especially when neighbors Patrick (Angus Deayton) and Pippa Trench (Janine Duvitski) become involved. Format: DVD: 2-Disc Set, One Foot in the Grave - Season Two
MOVIE DVD - Accidental retiree and freelance crank Victor Meldrew (Richard Wilson) and his patient wife, Margaret (Annette Crosbie) return for Series 2 of One Foot in the Grave, which aired from October 4 to November 15, 1990, on BBC1. Also back are neighbors Patrick and Pippa Trench (Angus Deayton and Janine Duvitski), Jean Warboys (Doreen Mantle), and Nick Swainey (Owen Brenman) -- all prepared to tolerate Victor for another round of episodes as well. Things get rolling when Victor and Margaret return from vacation to find their house demolished. Later, Victor is forced to babysit a tortoise; a toy dinosaur salesman drives Victor crazy; and a vacation at a seaside resort isn't very relaxing for Victor at all. The series also boasts a theme song written by ex-Monty Python performer Eric Idle. Although not a smash hit in its early seasons, after ten years the show made its mark and went on to rank among the British Film Institute's "100 Greatest British Television Programmes." - One Foot in the Grave - Series

MOVIE DVD - People, in Victor Meldrew's (Richard Wilson) view, were created to annoy him. And Victor annoys them in turn, provoking them to extremes. Sharing the misery, nightmares and confusion are his long-suffering wife Margaret (Annette Crosbie), who will never forget the day she found Victor buried up to his neck with a flowerpot over his head; friend Mrs. Warboys (Doreen Mantle), who will never forget that country walk with her foot cemented to Victor; and neighbors Mr. Swainey (Owen Brenman) and his bedridden mother Pippa (Janine Duvitski), both of whom will never forget the pile of radioactive manure on their driveway; and Patrick (Angus Deayton), who will never forget the hideous experience of having a crab surgically removed from his genitals! This set contains six episodes from 1992's third season that aired on the BBC. - One Foot in the Grave - Series 3 (DVD)
