Neapolitan coffee maker
This "reversible" coffee maker is the result of a research project by Riccardo Dalisi for Alessi between 1979 and 1987; and it makes a very unique coffee. Invented in Naples at the beginning of the nineteenth century, the "Neapolitan" coffee maker, as it was commonly called throughout Italy in the first decades of this century, is used by boiling the water in the lower recipient and then turning the coffee maker upside down to start the filtering process, which should last approximately 9 minutes.
