This is one of the first paintngs in the 3-dimensional, textured style that I love so much today. Since completing it I have really enjoyed having this piece as a focal point in whatever room it has been in. When I made this I was living in Savannah and, at least in my mind, I can see the influence of the ocean in the forms, textures and color. The forms are made of plywood, textures and the colors are acrylic. It has a high gloss over it which gives the paint almost a fired ceramic glaze look.

He was of course an experienced seaman, but this book concerns his person experiences before the Great War sailing around the British coast, her adjacent waters and the harbours and coastlines of her Northern European neighbours. These are two gentle accounts of yachting for pure pleasure which will be a joy to fellow enthusiasts and those who love simply to read about the sea.
