The main issue with this unit is the shelves. I love the unit itself, it looks nice and sturdy and was easy enough to assemble. The shelves, however, once loaded up with DVDs, instantly bowed and sometimes fall out due to the less than perfect support system offered. The Venture Horizon is well-designed with the exception of the shelf design. The shelves are held up by small plastic "L's" which are friction fit. "L's" for the center of the shelves have some small stick-on clear plastic hemispheres to add additional support where they tend to sag in response to the weight of a full shelf of CDs. I have to say I was pretty dissapointed with how difficult this was to assemble. The instructions were terrible with only vauge pictures of how things go together. I am pretty handy at putting things together and this one was a challenge. First you have about 8 plastic inserts that have to be pounded in to each shelf.
