I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I've gone through many different operating systems and computers, and drivers and have not had ANY issues with this product. I purchased this product a few moths ago to use with GarageBand. It works very well with my Yamaha keyboard through MIDI & live recording. I did have to update the software & firmware at first and getting set up took a little bit of time. All you really have to do is make sure that BOTH GarageBand & System Preferences are in sync.
