We often think of Sauvignon Blanc as a summer wine, light and thirst-quenching. However, there are some that have the heft and weight to work well in the cooler months, and the Ledgewood Creek is one of them. Full-bodied, its fruit aromas lean toward mango and lemon and are rounded out by touches of vanilla and a flinty smokiness. If you normally think Sauvignon Blanc is too sharp or light for you, this is one to try.

The color of this wine to be a ‘brilliant, pale straw'. The initial nose features a bright citrus bouquet of Meyer lemon and pink grapefruit. Following a swirl of the wine glass the nose includes not only citrus, but also a hint of melon. Emulating the nose, the palate is a harmony of crisp citrus and melon flavors, complemented by a soft, round mouthfeel. This supple quality distinguishes" wine from many of the popular ‘green, grassy-style' Sauvignon Blancs, and reflects"the decision to ferment...

Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc
90 Points - Best Value The Wine News 89 Points- Wine Spectator Growing Season: The 2008 growing season was ideal. Warm, dry weather was in place for almost all of the summer months. As a result, we had one of our earliest harvest seasons on record. Sauvignon Blanc, in particular, thrived with good to excellent quality. WINEMAKEER COMMENTS: The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is uniquely Dry Creek Valley. Distinctive for its wine spectrum of tropical fruit flavors, the wine also carries an excellent sense of...

2004 Handley Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley,Sonoma County A wonderful bottle of wine that has some texture, but loads of fruit, herbaceousness, and floral aromas and flavors. Sauvignon is such a wonderful varietal that doesn’t need much oak ageing, if any, to be fabulous and alive, which this rendition certainly is. The round, fresh, grapefruity Sauvignon is alive in the mouth, yet rich in the mouth. There is a little green-leaf herb in the aroma.

The 2005 Sauvignon Blanc presents a brilliant pale straw hue speared by vibrant streaks of youthful green. While a dash of fennel is evident, the wine is dominated by spectacular green lime and grapefruit qualities. The flavors that follow have the same explosive green lime, a full round feel and a dry citrus lemon rind finish. This spectacular wine is balanced with great flavor and length. This wine is wonderfully paired with freshly shucked oysters and all shellfish. Enjoy!
