After two generations of furniture manufacturing, Bob and Belle Cooper founded The Uttermost Company in 1975, and it is still 100% owned by the Cooper family. Bob and Belle continue to be involved in the business, but are not active in day-to-day activities. This wonderfully commodious container was carved and hand turned from a single log of teak. The turnings are evident inside and out. It's large, bowl tapers to stem form at the bottom. This piece is most interesting, with its brass rim applied with rosette nails; a treatment repeated at the base. It makes a stunning accessory and offers many decorating possibilities.

Description Large teak salad bowl marked "Dansk Designs - Denmark - IHQ". Heavy and thick, it measures 11-1/2" in diameter and just over 4" deep. There is some minor surface wear including some scratches - not bad. I put some lemon oil on the wood to bring out the color/grain, and it looks beautiful.
