I spent the entire day curled up on the couch reading this magnificent novel! Peterson truly has a gift! This book is packed with action, true love, heart-breaking losses, Indians, and nature's troubles. Not your typical pioneer girl story!!!

This was the first book by Tracie Peterson I have read. I was expecting a semi-sappy love story, like most romance novels. I really liked that this was a story about life and not just love. There were several tragic deaths throughout the book, but I didn't feel like Tracie put too much focus on them. It was sad, then you move on. I am excited to read the next in the series.
