This wine was rated in Australia Top Gold Chardonnay Class in the 2002 awards. It is a top Australian white! Margaret River is in the west, and this is an area where you can find small producers really interested in quality. Ed Tomlinson, the son, is now the winemaker and he estimates that this wine is at its best until 2006-2007. The grapes are picked by hand on the domaine. It is then fermented and matured in French oak barrels for 11 months before being estate bottled in February 2002.

Bruce Tomlinson was a famous architect in Perth who one day decided that he would prefer making wine. He bought land in Margaret River in 1988 and, since then, has made one of the top wines of Australia. His labels clearly remind us of his past in architecture and they also have a Piranesi look, which we do not think Bruce would object to; we love his labels. From the 2001 vintage, this wine is exclusively made from grapes picked by hand on the domaine; it is then fermented and matured in French...
