We're using this fixture over the main sink in our kitchen. We needed a lot of watts because of my aging eyes, but we still wanted a "petite" fixture, and this is about as small an island fixture as you will find. There's plenty of light (300 watts maximum), but we have it on a dimmer switch, so we can have as much or as little as we want/need.
