April 05, 2007: This book is the book we use most at our nursery. The tree descriptions and photos are outstanding. This book is a must if you are a collector, nursery or a maple enthusiast. I strongly recommend the third edition of this outstanding book. J.D. Vertrees also does a terrific job of informing its readers about the history of Japanese maple trees. The owners of Pacific Coast Maples Nursery feel that this book is a step above the rest.

Some leaves are curled and twisted as well, suggesting butterflies, and all are lovely on this upright, well-branched, rather dense 12- to 20-foot-tall, 8- to 10-foot-wide tree.
