Hudak Talking Drum
An Hourglass drum from South India which is very similar to the Idakka but has a snare stretched over one head and is played with the hand instead of with a stick. The pitch can be changed by squeezing the cords connecting the heads. It is similar in principle to the African talking drums. (Also Udaku, Udukku, Udukkai, Huruk, Hurki, Hurko)
