Teavana's exclusive Hawaiian Lehua Gold honey is produced by bees located in the upland native forests of the volcano Mauna Loa in the remote Ka'u district on the Island of Hawaii, and they gather nectar almost exclusively from the lovely and delicate Lehua flowers. The bright red Lehua flowers are symbols of erotic love and are sacred to Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes. The bees' hard work yields an extraordinarily full bodied, rich honey with a very pleasing buttery-floral flavor reminiscent of English...

You are standing at the mouth of the volcano Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii. Below you, on the hillsides, the Ohia trees sway in the tropical winds. The honey bees are busy collecting nectar from the Ohia's flower, the Lehua -- a bright pink bloom. The nectar produces a creamy, exotic honey with a totally unique spicy flavor. A nice, mild honey, not too sweet. Great for tea or using for face masks. The jar packaging is a bit of a pain--a plastic squeeze bottle would be so much less messy. I was a little worried when I opened my box, but the honey was securely taped up in bubble wrap and in its own sealed ziploc-type bag. Thanks to whomever sent out my order!
