November 20, 2003: This is a great cookbook. Not only does it have delicious recipes, it has a lot of wonderful stories. It gives you some history and insight to life during WWII and the love and strength of a family. The author includes some translations of some commom cooking words and/or ingredients as well as helpful hints to some recipes. This cookbook makes a great gift and would make a great addition to any kitchen.
