Magnavox wanted something like Defender to add to their Odyssey game collection, so Freedom Fighters was made! Unfortunately, you have to use two joysticks to play with any success. A nice attempt, but not too great overall.

Video Games. As the second edition of SNK's 3D conversion, The King of Fighters 2006 includes more than 20 characters, including returning brawlers Kula Diamond and Billy Kane. When fighting, players will have the option to use a form of combo that will evolve a character's technique called "Stylish Moves," and two new moves have been added to the game. "Counterstrike" will parry an opponents attack, and "Super Cancel" will cancel an enemies assault and launch the player's own move. The game includes a specific ending for each character and bonus games designed to extend game play. The King of Fighters XII Video Games for Microsoft Xbox 360
Video Games. SNK Playmore's signature 2D fighting series returns to consoles with a complete graphical overhaul in King of Fighters XII. The focus on new hand-drawn, high-definition sprites means that King of Fighters XII includes a roster of 26 characters, and the series' practice of pulling in fighters from other popular SNK franchises has been largely abandoned, though Raiden from the Fatal Fury makes an appearance. The premise and gameplay of the series remain largely intact though, as gamers once again take control of a team of three fighters and battle through a series of five-round bouts. The game does introduce a new "critical counter" system, whereby fighters who land a strong punch from close range are given a short period of time in which to string together multiple attacks and perform a finishing move. Gamers can also head online to fight against friends, check "TrueSkill" enabled rankings to see how they measure up to the competition, and upload and share recorded matches. ~ Christopher Brown,
