After living in China for several years and witnessing, on a large scale, the wasteful habit of disposable chopsticks, artist Bryan Parks decided he had to do something about it. So, he set to work designing functional, sculptural folding pieces handmade from recycled, sanitized bamboo chopsticks. Symmetrical and simple, this large folding basket holds everything from fruits to bread to decorative items, and then can be folded up to the size of a fan for easy storage and transportation. Before becoming baskets, the chopsticks are boiled in black tea to give them a medium brown color. Handmade in the Yunnan Province of southwest China.

This is the product that chopsticks were meant to make. These amazing folding bowls are great!! Opened they can be used to hold fruits and vegetables, bread, nuts, household items, etc. They can even be used to wash fruits and veggies or as a colander. When not in use they fold up into the size of a fan. Because they fold up they are not only great for home and office, but are also great for camping and picnics. You will LOVE these!

You can fill them up and don't need to worry about them breaking. Also, because of the good air flow it will keep fruits and vegetables fresh. You will love this recycled – re-purposed product!

The idea is simple: collect post-use, single-use chopsticks from restaurants, thoroughly clean them, sanitize them at extremely high temperature and pressure, and use them to make high-quality accents for the living space. The idea is Kwytza (pronounced k-why-tsa) Kraft. Research shows that literally billions of single-use chopsticks are consumed annually. The more shocking revelation was that it takes, by some estimates, 25 million trees and bamboo plants to support that resource waste. After extensive...
