Wings - The Complete Third Season, Tim Daly, DVD - Barnes & Noble
November 05, 2006: I have always loved this show and although not considered by some to be a great comedy, for me it is like comfort food or visiting with old friends. When I am bored with the inane shows on today and the lack of good sitcoms, I turn to Wings as I also do with Friends, Seinfeld and Will & Grace. I look forward to the rest of the seasons to be out for sale soon!!

Will and Grace was supposed to have been cancelled at the end of its seventh season, but somehow managed to hang on for an eighth and final year. To improve its flagging ratings (the series had dropped from ninth place in 2001 to a miserable 61 five years later), NBC moved the show to a new timeslot, sequestered among the network's most successful sitcom offerings. As a ratings gimmick, two of the episodes--including the season opener--were telecast "live," a ploy that had worked wonders for such...

Emergency! - Season 4, Randolph Mantooth, DVD - Barnes & Noble
Although Emergency! had always been an extremely popular series amongst younger viewers, the property did not crack the Top 30 Nielsen ratings until its fourth season on NBC. Meanwhile, the series' fervent following amongst the 2-to-11 age demographic was being duly served by a successful Saturday-morning animated version, Emergency + 4 . The Legend Of The Three Trees, TLC Entertainment, DVD - Barnes & Noble
The much-loved Christian folktale about three trees that play seemingly random but ultimately important roles in the life of Jesus gets a slightly Disneyesque treatment in this animated interpretation. Soaring ballads by Marilyn McCoo and Christian performing artist Andy Chrisman and scenes of cuddly animals scurrying about are sure to captivate the younger set. But at the story's heart is the idea that God has a plan for every living thing (a plan that only He understands). An olive tree doesn't...

August 21, 2006: Arrested Development was a breath of fresh air to a world riddled with reality TV. And for 3 seasons the show gained loyal fans (I'm one of them!). Sadly it didn't have the kind of numbers that Fox wanted, and the network pulled the plug. Season after season the network cut down their number of epidsodes and moved their time slot around...in essence they set the show up to fail. I MEAN...HOW COULD A SHOW WITH EMMY NOMINATIONS EVERY YEAR NOT HAVE A STRONGER FAN FOLLOWING...
