High Valley's signature cooler growing conditions allow for longer grape hang times enhancing flavor development and better acid retention in the juice and finished wine. Like all great white Bordeaux, 9% Semillon from an adjoining vineyard was blended to add more body to the mid-palate prior to bottling.

"Château Monbousquet is located in the commune of St- Sulplice de Faleyrens in the south-east part of the St-Emilion appellation. For years Monbousquet was a notorious underachiever, whose wines were soft, dilute and generally uninspiring. The catalyst for change came when the property was bought by Parisian supermarket tycoon Gérard Perse in 1993. Gérard, who now owns Château Pavie and Château Pavie-Decesse, severely restricted the yields, constructed a state of the art cuvier and hired the ubiquitous...

A wonderful California-made white Bordeaux. The touch of semillion makes a lovely first impression, adding a sweetness to the bone dry sauv blanc. What impressed me most, though, was the complete lack of a "steely" taste that permiates too many sauv blancs in this price range. While oak was present, it was not at all powerful, instead letting the natural fruit flavors emerge without thinking some bit of the foil fell into your glass. Why can't all sauv blancs be made this way? I highly recommend...

"Real Stones," a label created specifically for the American market, takes its name from Bordeaux's famed gravelly soil, most prominent in the M?doc. The Entre-Deux-Mers is the site for two-thirds of the grape source for Real Stones. It is a sizeable area lying between the two tributaries of the Gironde, the long, wide river that runs through the Bordeaux. The balance of the wine comes from southern Graves. Kravitz selects the wines, produced at private estates. It's then bottled by a n?gociant ...

- Located on the western coast of South America and bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Andes to the East, the Chilean wine-growing climate is similar to that of California's Napa Valley and Bordeaux. The Chilean wine industry is known for being consistently free of phylloxera, but political and economic unrest has brought its own source of disorder. The recent establishment of a free market has resuscitated the wine industry, and significant investments have been made, switching the...

Our Sauvignon Blanc comes from our 4-acre 16-year-old dry-farmed vineyard which sits at an altitude of 850 feet. The wine is fermented and aged in new French oak barrels for 16 months resulting in a wine of great depth and complexity, displaying the flavor and textural profile more like a white Bordeaux than a California Sauvignon Blanc.

Duckhorn 2008 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Duckhorn's only white wine is one of Napa's best Sauvignon Blancs. This is a lush, full-bodied style of Sauvignon, yet it sacrifices nothing of the variety's crisp fruit and refreshing texture. Blended with 25% Semillon as is often done in Bordeaux, the combination of grapes creates a wine of uncommon complexity that retains Sauvignon's affinity for fish, seafood and vegetable dishes. A serious Sauvignon Blanc that is a joy to drink.

Originally from the Bordeaux region, the Sauvignon Blanc grape varietal is not only planted throughout south-western France, but in other regions of France as well. It is the primary white grape varietal in the Loire where it is also known as “Blanc Fumé” or “Surin”. In Burgundy it is called “Blanc doux Sarvonien”. It can also be found in the Languedoc and Provence. It is renowned for its unique, intense flavour reminiscent of Muscat, boxwood and citrus. It produces sweet white wines in the Sauternes...

Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
A walking melting pot, Oded Shakked (owner, winemaker, surfer) was born in Israel and raised on three continents. Growing up a hundred yards from the beach just north of Tel-Aviv, he was splashing in the Mediterranean by age two months, and later became one of the area's first surfers. While studying winemaking at UC Davis (can't beat the homework!), Oded worked harvests in Napa and in Bordeaux, but his heart was captured by the rich diversity of Sonoma County - the soils, the climate and the people...

Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Stag’s Leap, Oakville and Rutherford are a few acclaimed sub regions with their own distinct climactic and soil...
