Delightful wine that offers an intriguing bouquet that opens with loads of tropical fruit infused with hints of lime, fresh herbs and green apple. Impressive body with pure, fresh fruit flavors complemented by bright acidity leading to a crisp, dry finish that reveals mineral notes.

Just two grapes—Nebbiolo and Sangiovese—are used to make some of the finest Italian wines, including Barolo, Brunello de Montalcino and Chianti. Still, Italy is home to dozens of wine grape varieties, with important wines being made from Corvina, Barbera, Cortese, Moscato and traditionally French varietals. Falesco Vitiano Blanco Umbria IGT 2005
The crisp, elegant 2005 Vitiano Bianco, an equal part blend of unwooded Vermentino and Verdicchio, offers loads of tropical fruit, good body, impressive purity (a hallmark of all the Cotarella wines), and impeccable balance as well as length. It provides a heck of a glass of dry white for the price! It should be drunk during the first year of life Kudos to Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella for continuing to deliver remarkable wines at these prices. Robert Parker Robert Parker 89 points

Vitiano Bianco was born from one of the many experimental vineyards through the University of Viterbo. The grapes Vermentino, Viognier, and Verdicchio all fair exceptionally well in the sediment and clay soils around the Marciliano estate. Harvested in late September, the grapes are crushed and vinified separately, then blended to make a balanced, full, fresh wine with interesting characteristics of fresh grass, lime and ripe pears.
