Fifth vintage of this very special Napa Cabernet we’ve carried and we’ve yet to be disappointed. This is huge…black currants, dark chocolate malt, mocha, sweet earth, blackberry & mulberry, layers of flavors, lavish oak, juicy and delicious now, in its youth.

Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 750ml
Rated 86. Ripe black currant and elderberry promised on the nose are juicy yet not at all superficially sweet in their palate presence. Blond tobacco, hemp, moss, and toasted nuts add complexity to this polished, mouth-filling Cabernet, and unlike last years rendition which evinced a hint of finishing heat, I could detect none (despite 14.5% alcohol) in the exuberantly, vividly fruity finish of this 2007. -Robert Parker.

Under $20 Napa Cab is easy enough to find, but GOOD under $20 Cab is tough. This is GOOD. Nose of red & black cherries, cedar and tobacco. Forward fruit with mouth-watering acidity, sweet oak, peppercorn spice and firm tannins. Nicely ripe, not jammy. Good dinner companion.

Cakebread-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-2006
The winery states their '06 Cakebread Cab "bursts from the glass with fresh, smoky, cassis, blackberry and boysenberry aromas augmented by subtle cedar, black tea spice and sweet oak scents. Supple on entry, the wine’s big, extracted, black fruit flavors coat the palate, while its firm underlying structure transports the rich fruit and zesty black tea spiciness into a long, savory finish. Impressive now, this concentrated, yet elegant Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will age gracefully in bottle for...
