The fourth chapter in the Kingdom Under Fire series, and the first for the Xbox 360, Circle of Doom casts off the series' traditional formula, that of large-scale real-time strategy battles mixed with small role-playing elements, in favor of a full RPG adventure centered on the development of a single character. Korean developer Blueside sends players back to the Dark Dimension in an attempt to end the Epoch of Light, where players can battle though a series of vast, randomly generated dungeons. Each dungeon environment is fully destructible, a feature that helps provide new avenues of exploration as well as varied means to battle enemies, which can sometimes number in the thousands at any one time. Circle of Doom features six playable characters, each with different combat techniques that gamers can use in conjunction with more than 50 abilities and 60 weapon enhancements.
