T&M, as yet, have not been able to identify this Sweet William-like plant, but it is quite delightful with its rich and unusual, deep glowing amethyst flowers borne on red-tinged stems. Although perennial, from an early sowing it will easily flower in its first summer.

Addendum: My son Jeb's significant sweety is attending 5 branches school of oriental studies to become a chinese herbalist and acupuncturist.
