Finkelstein's test for DeQuervain's tenosynovitis. Finkelstein's test is used to diagnose DeQuervain's tenosynovitis in people who have wrist pain. To perform the test, the thumb is placed in the closed fist and the hand is ulnar deviated, as shown in the image. If sharp pain occurs along the distal radius (top of forearm, close to wrist; see image), DeQuervain's tenosynovitis is likely.
