December 25, 2006: It is difficult to tell where this book in the 'Winning Chess' series fits in. For an abslolute beginner or near absolute beginner the primer of the basic rules and strategy part moves along so quickly it is difficult to grasp. Therefore, the logical audience is for a person who already knows alittle about chess but wants to learn some of the more intermediate concepts. It does a good job to this end.
