Chateau des Graviers 2005 Margaux
The Cru Artisan classification is only given to independently owned Chateaux that offer consistently high quality wine. Reestablished by the French government in 2006, only 44 Chateaux have currently earned the Cru Artisan designation making it even more exclusive than Cru Bourgeois. This 2005 is perhaps the best wine they have produced. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from vines averaging 30 years old. It's been aged in oak barrels for 12 months. The production...

Red Wine by Ch?teau des Carabins from Margaux, France - Bordeaux. It is balanced and smooth with good dense fruit that spreads across your pallet. A very dark Marguax. It tastes devine with a mouthful of chocolate.

Pierre Charlot tends his 35 hectares of steeply-sloping vineyards in the eastern area of Bordeaux known as Ste. Foy. His 2005 captures the warmth and richness of this excellent harvest. The wine is nearly half Cabernet Sauvignon, and has the power and ageability that grape imparts. With Merlot and Cabernet Franc to round out the blend, M. Charlot has crafted a wonderful claret that is fully enjoyable now and capable of cellaring as well. A deep ruby in color, the Château des Chapelains shows the...

2005 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux (750ml)
Sub-Region : Bordeaux The Bordeaux wine region wide spreads 60 miles around the city and spans three rivers that contribute to the temperate, humid climate. Bordeaux is most famous for red wines, but is also home to the exquisite dessert wine Sauternes. Five red grapes are approved for Bordeaux wine production: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petite...

Left Bank, further from the river than the best known regions (Margaux & St. Julien are not far away). Good values here, like this. 57% Merlot, 43% Cab Sauv. Nose of violets, raw meat & potpourri. Fine fruit, structure and acidity. Tastes of the earth…almost briney. A classic Bordeaux that will drink best in 2014 (more or less).

Domaine des Baumard-Savennieres-2005
Drink this classic, 100% Loire Valley Chenin Blanc as you would a rich, exotic Chardonnay. Nose is roast hazelnuts and toffee. Tastes of pears, spiced apple and more roast nuts. Finish is something else: rich, chocolate, low acid, creamy and long. Best food pairing: baked oysters and other such savory, rich fish dishes.
