CHATEAU RENARD MONDÉSIR - Fronsac - | France

Fronsac is a small AOC north of the Dordogne River. It was famous in the 18th Century and is now coming back in fashion. Its wines exude aromas of cacao, coffee and chocolate. One of the best domaines is Chateau Renard Mondésir, also owned by the Chassagnoux. Made from vines in excess of 35 years of age, it is a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. This blend is put in 2/3 of new barrels each year and ages in oak casks for 15 months, and then another year in bottles. Just...
