Same issue here. My Goodman A/C compressor crapped out 2 days ago due to lightning strike (unit is 8 years old and haven't had any major issues). Luckily insurance is going to pay some $$ as long as I give them the compressor to show all 3 circuits are fried. The price to replace the compressor ($1800) is about half the cost of just having a new condensor unit, evaporator unit and new line set installed and going from a 2.5 ton to a 3 ton and gain more efficiency by going to 14 seer ($3400-$400...
