COTES DU RHÔNE SEIGNEUR DE LAURIS - | France
Dark and opaque garnet color. Nose of red berries, réglisse and tar. Medium bodied, smooth, supple, round, and concentrated. Long finish opening up on ripe cherries. Suitable to drink as aperitif (and the price is right!). It will accompany mild Chinese cuisine (Mu-Shu-Pork), pasta, cold cuts and simple cheeses. To drink before 2004 (that will not be difficult!). Great value here.

The 2007 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet red may be Beaucastels finest example of this wine since they first introduced it in 1978. A blend of 30% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, and the rest Syrah, Cinsault, and a few other authorized varietals, this sumptuous, deep ruby/purple-tinged Coudoulet exhibits notes of smoky blackberries, roasted meats, incense, licorice, and underbrush. Opulent, sexy, and full-bodied, with abundant tannin, structure, freshness, and precision, this glorious wine should be purchased...

It’s always a pleasure to offer a true Côtes du Rhône as our Monthly Red Wine. Fine Côtes du Rhône Rouge has been a staple on our shelves for all our 29 years. It’s been rare occurrence in recent years, however, to find a Côtes du Rhône at a price commensurate with our Wine of the Month offerings. The 2007 Côtes du Rhône from Jean Lefort met our standards for quality and value and we’re delighted to offer it this month. The generous, warm and spicy style of Rhône reds makes these wines especially...

- Legendary wine-producing region in southeast France. Stereotypically speaking, Rhone wines are high in alcohol, and the majority produced is red. The northern Rhone is best known for outstanding 100% Syrah wines from areas such as Cote Rotie and Hermitage, as well as for fabulous white wines from Condrieu (where Viognier is king). In the southern Rhone, look for spicy, full-bodied wines that are blends of Grenache, Syrah, and other varietals coming from appellations such as Chateauneuf du Pape...

The 2007 Domaine Fond-Croze Côtes du Rhône is an archetype of Rhône character - combining power and spicy elegance with utterly palate-pleasing style. The '07 Fond-Croze Côtes du Rhône has a stunning bouquet for such an affordable red. Lucious ripe blackberry and plum fruits are enhanced by nuances of violet, cinnamon and black pepper. The flavors are generous with the blackberry and plum fruits underscored by hints of clove and the characteristic black pepper spice of the region. Its rich fruit...

This is a perfect warm-weather white. It's great with grilled foods, seafoods, and flavorful picnic fare. The Rhône Valley of France has a well-deserved reputation for fine red wines, but also yields concentrated and flavorful white wines. The Etienne-Rodier 2007 Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a splendid example of the richness and exotic appeal of the region's whites. The bouquet of the 2007 Etienne-Rodier Côtes du Rhône Blanc reflects its Mediterranean origins. Aromas of peach and citrus fruits mix with...
