A reusable capacitive immunosensor for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) detection using thiourea modified gold electrode [An article from: Analytica Chimica Acta]

This digital document is a journal article from Analytica Chimica Acta, published by Elsevier in . The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. Description: A capacitive immunosensor based on a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of thiourea on gold electrode has been developed. Anti-carcinoembryonic antigen (anti-CEA) was immobilized on a self-assembled thiourea monolayer (SATUM) via covalent coupling...

CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen)
CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen)

CEA is normally produced during the stages of fetal development. The production of CEA generally stops before a child is born, and CEA is not present in most healthy adults. However, elevated levels of CEA may occasionally be detected in benign conditions such as cirrhosis, chronic lung disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreatitis.

Synthesis of a new biacridine and its use as the chemiluminescent probe for immunoassay of carcinoembryonic antigen [An article from: Analytica Chimica Acta]

This digital document is a journal article from Analytica Chimica Acta, published by Elsevier in 2004. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. Description: A new biacridine compound, 10,10'-dimethyl-3,3'-disulfo-9 ,9'-biacridine (DMDSBA) was synthesized, and its chemiluminescent characteristics were investigated in detail. DMDSBA was used to label anti-CEA antibody. The labeling ratio was estimated...

CEA Explained Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Explained

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) blood test measures for a protein associated with certain kinds of cancers, especially colon and rectal cancer. High levels of CEA are also found with a variety of other cancers including pancreatic, gastric, lung, ovary, and breast. Following is a sample of the results of the CEA blood test based on whether the individual is a smoker or nonsmoker. The reference interval indicates the normal ranges and the flag indicates a result outside of those ranges.

Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA), ELISA Kit

Principle of the test: The CEA ELISA test is based on the principle of a solid phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The assay system utilizes a monoclonal antibody directed against a distinct antigenic determinant on the intact CEA molecule is used for solid phase immobilization (on the microtiter wells). A goat anti-CEA antibody conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is in the antibody-enzyme conjugate solution. The test sample is allowed to react simultaneously with the two antibodies,...

CEACAM6 (carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 6) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Summary: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA; MIM 114890) is one of the most widely used tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. An apparent lack of absolute cancer specificity for CEA probably results in part from the presence in normal and neoplastic tissues of antigens that share antigenic determinants with the 180-kD form of CEA (Barnett et al., 1988 [PubMed 3220478]). For background information on the CEA family of genes, see CEACAM1 (MIM 109770).[supplied by OMIM].

CEACAM6(carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 6) Antibody

Many breast, pancreatic, colonic and non-small-cell lung carcinoma lines express CEACAM6 and CEACAM5, and antibodies to both can affect tumor cell growth in vitro and in vivo. CEACAM6 expression is elevated in many solid tumors, but variable as a function of histotype. It may be a promising target for antibody-based therapy.
