These wipes worked very well for me when I polished my complete (extended) set of cymbals. My set of Zildjian ZBT cymbals (14" hi hats, 16" and 18" crash, and 20" ride) is only a month or so old, but they had a fair number of fingerprints and scuffs, and just a general loss of luster. I replaced all the heads and completely cleaned and polished up all the shells of the drum kit, so I wanted to get the cymbals looking like new again. In addition to the new "active" set of cymbals, I had a year...

The search for vintage cymbals has finally ended. These cymbals (like all Bosphorus cymbals) are completely hand-made from the casting process through the final hammering. Second the alloy is from an ancient formula passed down by first generation cymbalsmiths which give these instruments a soft, "played-in" feel. These cymbals are also much thinner than today's heavier weighted cymbals.

Bosphorus Stanton Moore Series 20" Wide Ride Cymbal Bosphorus worked for two years with Stanton on the development of his signature series cymbals. The results capture the funky, earthy quality of Stanton's trademark sound. The tops are traditionally lathed with warm tonal grooves, while the bottoms are lathed with the distinctive wider ridges associated with the Bosphorus New Orleans series. The sound is 100% Stanton--raw, and aggressive, but always musical and extremely funky.

22" Bosphorus New Orleans Ride Cymbal
A line of cymbals that is truly in a class by themselves. Evoking the spirit of the crescent city, this line of cymbals is at home behind a jazz kit or it can take the pounding of a blues or funk gig. The cymbal is hammered in the "Turk" tradition and then lathed in a continuous spiral from bell to outer edge. This method produces a dry yet open sound with smokey lows, clear mids, and a taste of high notes. It also produces a warm, trashy overtone that is sure to delight the ears.

This Bosphorus crash cymbal from the New Orleans Series feels as good behind a jazz kit as it does on a contemporary setup. It is completely hand-hammered in the traditional manner, then wide-lathed in a continuous spiral from bell to outer edge. The distinctive lathing produces quick, dry crashes with reduced sustain but plenty of low end harmonics. It resembles an aged vintage Turkish cymbal.

|
Unlike most unlathed cymbals, the original ride has a distinct shimmering quality. It has a slightly smaller bell than the other Turk rides and is somewhat higher in pitch than the Light ride. A wonderfully sweet sounding cymbal that would fit nicely in low volume, acoustic settings.

The Antique Series marries the two lathing patterns found on the Traditional Series and the Turk Series. These cymbals offer the brilliance of a classic, lathed cymbal and the dryness of a raw, unlathed cymbal. The top side of each cymbal features an unlathed bell and a narrow strip of unlathed cymbal approximately half way between the bell and the edge. The bottom side of each cymbal is completely lathed.

I have been drumming for nearly two decades, and have owned the Bosphorus 17" Gold power crash for 3 years. First off let me say, I believe it to be the best crash I've ever played. It's bright, without sounding brittle. It cuts through the amps like a knife, and it's just beautiful under stage lights. I have a Paiste 2002 18" medium and a Paiste 3000 power crash on my kit as well. I originally thought I wouldn't like the way this B20 sounded with the Paiste B8s. I couldn't have been more wrong...
