The Black-Eyed Susan vine looks a little like the better-known wildflower, but there are plenty of differences. This is a fast growing, exotic appearing vine that covers itself with colorful flowers all summer into fall. The tubular flowers, up to 1 1/2" across, are orange or yellowish with contrasting black throats. Plants twine and easily scramble up low fences, trellises, netting and posts forming a screen. Trail over a low wall or from hanging baskets or urns. 10-15 days to germination.

These vines don't get too long, about 10', so they do great in hanging baskets or containers. Blooming in profusion during the summer into fall and all the way to frost, they are one of my very favorite flowering vines! I don't know what it is about their orange-yellow color and brown eyes that just seems HAPPY and SUNNY to me. Even on a cloudy day, these wonderful flowers will lift your spirits!
