A trailing or twining annual vine with triangular 3 inch leaves and masses of 1 inch wide tubular flowers with or without contrasting dark eyes. Colors include orange, yellow and white. Use as a ground cover, in hanging baskets or train on a trellis or strings.

This is a fast growing, exotic appearing vine that covers itself with colorful flowers all summer into fall. The tubular flowers, up to 1 1/2" across, are orange or yellowish with contrasting black throats. Plants twine and easily scramble up low fences, trellises, netting and posts forming a screen. Trail over a low wall or from hanging baskets or urns. 10-15 days to germination.

The reason we carry 4 colors of alyssum is because it is the perfect plant. All you do is direct seed in good soil and you will be rewarded with a flowering mound of honey scented peach blossums. Butterflys love this low growing, to six inches, plant. If you cut it back by half you will even get a second bloom. For the front of a sunny border, to fill in a container or in a rock garden alyssum is terrific.
