This sweet bridesmaid is dressed in a lavender crepe paper gown and hat, and carries a matching parasol. She has survived at least fifty years in near mint condition with a few tiny pinholes to the crepe. She has an absolutely beautiful face that was expertly hand-painted with side-glancing eyes and sweetheart lips. This is a small old doll with a bisque head and wood and composition body. She stands 8 inches tall and has set eyes and tiny little teeth. She is strung with cord knotted on the outside of her arms and legs and the hole in one leg is slightly too large which draws up that leg and makes it just a little shorter than the other leg. Her head is perfect and her body is in pretty good condition and the wig is original. There are some marks on the back of her head but they are undecipherable.

This somewhat stern looking lady is certainly capable of keeping her household or that of her employers in perfect order. This 5-inch dollhouse doll with her bisque porcelain head, shoulders, arms and legs and fabric body would be a great addition to an antique dollhouse kitchen or a German doll kitchen. She could also stand behind the counter of a pastry shop or a room box store. All in all she makes a good impression although there is some wear to her original clothes. Circa late 19th century.
