The red bands on the wings and fuselage, as opposed to green, indicate that it is a non-instrument trainer. The U.S. insignia on the top of our wing does not have the red circle in the middle of the white star as seen in the insignia to the right. This is because after Dec. 7th 1941 ( the bombing of Pearl Harbor) the red circle was removed to avoid mistaking it for the Japanese rising sun or "meatball" insignia. The Extended Biplane Flight In Sonoma Experience is offered year-round everyday of the week except Tuesdays. Weekday flights are available from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM by appointment only. Weekend flights have open availability from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
