Beringer 2006 Private Reserve Chardonnay, Napa Valley
Always one of the best Napa Chardonnays, this 2006 was number 47 on the Wine Spectator's top 100 Best Wines of 2008. Grapes harvested from Beringer's Gamble Ranch and Yountville Vineyard are pressed into French oak barrels (60% new) where the wine is slowly barrel fermented with lees stirring every week. After nine months of aging the final bend is made from only the most expressive lots. Wine Spectator's rating for the wine was 92 points as was Robert Parker's. Both the Spectator and Parker remarked...

Beringer 2007 Private Reserve Chardonnay - White Wine
White Wine by Beringer from Napa Valley, California. A good portion of the 2007 blend is from Gamble Ranch, a vineyard that has consistently delivered such rich, ripe fruit flavors. There's a richness in this wine that is wonderfully balanced...

"The 2004 Chardonnay Private Reserve is a surprisingly tightly knit Chardonnay by Beringer’s standards, with notes of lemon oil, orange blossom, apple pie, and brioche in a full-bodied style with some tropical fruit but good underlying acidity and fleshy texture. It seems that Sbragia has cut back on the oak, and the wine shows more of a steely minerality than in the past. It is still a big, relatively extroverted Chardonnay to consume over the next 2-3 years."

Organic farmaing is a form of agriculture that relies in ecosystem management and attempts to reduce or eliminate external agricultural inputs (fertilizer, pesticides, antibiotics, and chemical additivies). It is a holistic production management system that promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. To be certified, farmland has to be free from chemicals for at least three years, detailed written production and sales records...

VINEYARDS Beringer’s northernmost Chardonnay vineyards, Gamble Ranch and Yountville Vineyard, are located near the town of Yountville, where daytime temperatures slowly climb as the cooling morning fog recedes south to San Pablo Bay. This significant diurnal shift allows the grapes to maintain their acidity, which is essential to balancing the ripe, rich flavors they develop during warm afternoons. As harvest approached, winemaker Laurie Hook and vineyard manager Drew Johnson identified the blocks...

Sub-Region : Napa Valley America’s equivalent of Bordeaux, Napa Valley is the most famous winegrowing region in the United States. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay reign supreme in Napa Valley, but many of varietals are also grown successfully. Wines made from Napa Valley grapes vary greatly depending on the specific AVA or sub region where they are grown. Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Stag’s Leap, Oakville and Rutherford are a few acclaimed sub regions with their own distinct climactic and soil...

- The white grape of Burgundy, and probably the most familiar name to American consumers. In Burgundy, the name of the grape generally does not appear on the label-only the place where it was grown (e.g. Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, etc.). It is also the grape of Chablis, where it's habit of early ripening puts it at risk for Spring freezes and hailstorms. It is responsive to a wide variety of wine-making techniques, and use in Champagne as well. The American style has often been to put Chardonnay...

Tanzer Review: "Golden color. Deep, slightly floral aromas of dried fruits, melon and buttery oak. Very ripe, oaky and concentrated; a note of honey contributes to the impression of sweetness. But the impressively persistent finish offers very good grip..."

94 WA! "It is a fruit-forward, softer, more flamboyant, already seductive effort displaying gorgeous notes of chocolaty creme de cassis, some spicy, high-quality, toasty oak, a rich, plush, savory, expansive mid-palate, and a long, heady finish with elevated glycerin and plenty of sweet tannin and fruit. This wine is delicious yet promises to age gorgeously for 15-20 years." Properly stored since purchase, title passes upon receipt and confirmation of funds. 4% Buyer's Fee for PayPal.

Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Private Reserve 2004
The final blend for the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve has turned out fabulously. The wine’s dense purple color is accompanied by a rich, sumptuous bouquet of creme de cassis, lead pencil shavings, chocolate, toast, and spice box. It possesses fabulous fruit, low acidity, a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long, pure finish. This cuvee remains one of the most underrated great Cabernet Sauvignons of Napa. In ...

Beau Vigne-Cabernet Sauvignon-"Reserve" Napa Valley-2006
Extremely showy, expansive, rich and jam-packed-full of dense, dark berry flavors. 100% Cabernet holds nothing back from first whiff to its 40 second finish. Super-concentrated and expansive. A dizzying amount of flavor. 450 cases made.

"Beringer's Private Reserve has always been one of my favorite California Cabernets, particularly since the late seventies. They can be drunk young, but age exceptionally well, giving every indication of holding their fruit and evolving nicely for two decades. The terrific 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve offers an opaque purple color, a gorgeous nose of toasty oak, and a silky, concentrated texture with unobtrusive acidity or tannin. The wine possesses layered richness, remarkable balance...

Beringer Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet 750ml(WA-96pts)WS 95-100 Pts
WA 96 Pts. - When all of these cuvees are blended together, the result is the finest Cabernet Sauvignon yet made by Ed Sbragia, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve (11,000 cases of truly divine Cabernet nectar). For statisticians, 44% came from the Steinhauer Vineyard, 1% from Bancroft Ranch, 17% from Rancho del Oso, 3% from Chabot, 13% from St. Helena Home Ranch, 0% from Quarry Vineyard, and the balance from Marston Vineyard. As I reported last year, the 2001 is an extraordinary effort....

Beringer 1999 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Enticing flavors of currants, minerals and brown spice. Very long, slow-building finish features big but sweet and fine tannins. Suave and impressive.

Score: 92 A tightly wound wine from a classic vintage, with a firm band of cedar and spice wrapped around a core of ripe plum, blackberry and black cherry. It fans out to reveal hints of olive and smoke, firming on the finish. Best from 2002 through 2011.

The fully mature, open-knit 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is totally delicious. The color is dark garnet with some amber at the edge. The big, sweet, licorice, earthy, jammy, black fruit-scented nose is followed by a full-bodied, sweet, expansive, chewy wine with no hard edges. The acidity and tannin are both well-integrated in this plump, sumptuous Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 5-6 more years. RP
