Seed Packet - Bells of Ireland

Bells of Ireland prefer a cold period before germination, so to start them indoors, put the seed in your refrigerator for 6-8 weeks before starting.  It's best to sow directly in your garden in April to produce stalks with many bracts in June.  Just press seeds lightly into soil.  They need light to germinate.  Beware of late-sowing however.  High soil temperatures can cause irregular germination.  When using the stalks in flower arrangements, remove the leave between the bracts.
