This wine has a bouquet that is bursting with passionfruit, sweat, gooseberry and red current. The palate is rich, sweet fruited and complex with layers of guava, passionfruit and gooseberry. The acid/fruit balance is excellent with a lovely herbal flinty character and a lingering perfume on the finish. This is a reason why Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is so famous. Great with seafood or fish meals. Try with fresh oysters!

The 2008 growing season started quite well with little or no frost. Mild temperatures during bloom favored a generous crop set. A warm, even summer continued and ripened grapes with more restrained herbaceous character and more forward tropical fruit. Even though late March rains created a bit of havoc, harvest proceeded and yields are up over 20%.

A fragrant mix of pineapple and passion fruit tropical aromas with underlying ripe citrus characters adding complexity to the nose. On the palate, again a flavour-some array of pineapples and passion fruit, with a zesty citrus essence of orange and lime. Texture from the fruit concentration gives this wine great mouthfeel with a mouthwatering acid backbone creating an enduring, structured and well balanced finish. Enjoy either on its own as an aperitif, or accompanied by seafood and salad dishes.
