I bought this in order to reboot my U2 iPod (old model); however, it wouldn't reboot. I saw another review here that said it worked for that person on their iPod, but they must have a newer/different model. So, for me, this particular item didn't do what I wanted it to. However, it works wonderfully if you want it to charge your iPod without having a computer nearby (I lent it to a friend who was traveling).
