The reason we carry 4 colors of alyssum is because it is the perfect plant. All you do is direct seed in good soil and you will be rewarded with a flowering mound of honey scented peach blossums. Butterflys love this low growing, to six inches, plant. If you cut it back by half you will even get a second bloom. PACKET LABEL INSTRUCTIONS: Start in flats or seed directly after all danger of frost is past, on 6" centers. Likes well-drained soil in good tilth and fairly level (so the small seeds do not wash away). Cover seeds thinly with soil (about 1/4"). To germinate keep soil moist and water moderately. After 3-5 weeks start harvesting leaves, don't take more than 1/2. Keep going for grain harvest.

You are purchasing one pound of Organic Sprouting Seeds Amaranth . Amaranth is a very tiny, very delicate seed. It just needs to be soaked for about 4 hours, then sprouted for a day or two. Very nice, tiny little seed and a very nice, tiny little sprout. Amaranth can also be cooked and used as a cooked grain.
