2006 Pax Cellars Cuvee Moriah Proprietary Blend

This is a 88% grenache blend from sonoma that burns with heat on the nose. Decant, swirl, oxidize this however you can. Sweet bitter strawberry rhubarb pie with heat, not an extremeley long finish. Would love to see them make a traditional GSM because this grenache doesn't match up to their syrah.

2005 Pax Cellars Cuvee Moriah Proprietary Blend

This wine is a wonderful California expression of a Chateauneuf. You hear this sort of thing all the time, but this time it is for real. It is like great music improv, sauced up and modern in style, but with the same type of soul.

2003 Pax Cellars Cuvee Moriah Sonoma , RP93pts

WA says: the 2003 Cuvee Moriah, which is a blend of 69% Grenache, 18% Syrah, and small quantities of Mourvedre, Counoise, and Rousanne, was aged in both larger pungeons and smaller barrels. A dark plum/purple color is followed by scents of kirsch liquer, raspberries, Provenchal herbs, and lavender. Rich, ripe, and full-bodied, it is a luscious, heady red that recalls a top notch Chateauneuf de Pape from the Rhone Valley.
