BRITISH M.1796 LIGHT CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD
Identical pattern and construction. The 33 1/2 broad fullered curved blade marked WOOLEY (weak at the end), famed maker James Wooley, 1785-99 succeeded by Wooley & Deakin in 1800. Has seen service with some shallow edge nicks. Smooth gray brown patina to hilt and blade. Scattered pitting marks to the last 6 of the blade tip only. Grip complete and about excellent. This and #440 above are the first examples we have offered in many years.
