The old-growth lumber is all heartwood. It is available kiln-dried or green from a recently re-sawed reclaimed log. We also offer other grades of Redwood and Douglas-fir in wood grades ranging in quality from clear vertical tight grain material to knotty open-grain boards. Tight-grained old-growth is hard to find because of over cutting in the past and today's common practice of harvesting most trees while still relatively young.
